An army may currently have two different settings:

  • Neutral
  • Defend

Defend Status

Defend status is triggered during an attack on the Settlement or an army, which leads to the automatic participation of the Settlement or other Armys in the fight.
Status: Defend is generally applicable only for the Armys from the same alliance as of the of defending Settlement.

The Status: Defend is only upon initiation of the fight, NOT when an army later arrives at the battle location!

Changing the Status

  • Select Army -> Info -> Defend Fortress or Settlement against Attack: No -> Edit
  • Movement of an army always leads to the return of the army status to Status: Neutral.

Status: Defend always refers to the Settlement (Home Settlement, Fortress, Camp).

The automatic participation in a fight depends on the owner of the settlement.

The Status: Defend works whenever:

  • Settlement and army owners are identical, i.e. they are the same players.
  • The alliance of the settlement owner and the army owner is the same.

Players without an alliance or from a different alliance will not be automatically defended by a foreign settlement!

Effect of Defense

  • An army with the Status: Defend will automatically defend an attacked fortress and will automatically participate in the fight without active action of the player.
  • A fortress will defend an army with a Status: Defend.
  • The garrison of the fortress takes part in the fight.
  • The Army is awarded a fortress bonus.

  • Fortress A belongs to player A from alliance A.
  • Player B comes from alliance A.
  • Player C comes from Alliance C.

All armies are at the fortress and have Status: Defend.

1. Player D attacks the fortress, the following actions are performed automatically:

  • Player A: Fortress and all the armies fight against Player D. (Fortress + armies belong to the same player.)
  • Player B: all the armies fight on the side of the fortress A. (Owner of the army and owner of the fortress are in the same alliance.)
  • Player C: no army automatically takes part in the fight. (Player is neutral.)

Result: player D automatically fights against the fortress and all the armies of the alliance A.

2. Player D attacks an army of player A or player B:

  • The same reaction as in Case 1!
  • Both the fortress and all the armies of the alliance A automatically defend against the attack.
  • Player C is neutral and does not take part in the battle automatically

Result: player D automatically fights against the fortress and all the armies of the alliance A.

3. Player D attacks the army of player C.

  • Player A and player B are neutral because fortress owner A is not in the same alliance as Player C.

Result: player D fights against player C.
